A five-member committee has been established to find the next head coach of Ghana's national team. The Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation formed the Search Committee at a meeting in Accra on Friday, October 2.

Fred Pappoe, a former vice-president of the GFA, will chair the group. Its members include former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe, legal practitioner Agbesi Dzakpasu, ex-captain Stephen Appiah, and high-performance specialist Faisal Chibsah. Their task is to identify, assess, and recommend the most suitable candidate for the role.

The search begins

The vacancy opened after Carlos Queiroz resigned on Thursday, October 1, following the September international window. The Black Stars currently sit third in their World Cup qualifying group with four points from three games. Their recent form shows one win, two draws, and two defeats from the last five matches.

The committee's terms of reference require a transparent process based on merit. "He brings extensive experience in football administration and governance to the recruitment process," Fred Pappoe said of the panel's composition. The group will submit its final recommendation directly to the GFA.

With a key away fixture against Morocco scheduled for October 4, the search for new leadership begins as the team looks to improve on its current standing. Fans can track the team's progress and upcoming fixtures and check the latest squad information as the process unfolds.
